My Gap Year

Before starting at Stanford, Charlotte spent a year exploring different places, learning new skills and gaining professional experience. Her travels included an extended outdoor trip in India, followed by time in Guatemala and Costa Rica.

Highlights of that period included backpacking in the Himalayas, training to teach English, scuba diving, volunteering, and completing bartending coursework. She later worked in San Mateo and returned to Interlochen for an arts administration role during the summer camp season.

It was a memorable year of travel, learning and new connections before beginning university.
